GKN Leaders Visited SDS to Guide Work

Recently, a delegation led by Markus Bannert, Chief Executive Officer of GKN Automotive, Mark Gabriel, Chief Technical Officer Dirk Kesselgruber, Chief Strategic Officer Jams Pedder, and Chief Procurement Officer Thierry Minel visited SDS, accompanied by Charlie Qiu, President of GKN China, and Joontiew Too, Chief Financial Officer, Qian Xiangyang, General Manager of SDS, led the SDS's management team to receive them.

 

Affected by COVID-19, the two sides have not met directly since the change of the board members and the SDS management team. It is the first time GKN executives have visited SDS in three years. Both sides are full of expectations for this visit and face-to-face exchanges.

 

During the three-day visit and exchange, GKN leaders gained a detailed understanding of the development history, main products, and business situation of SDS; They Visited the digital production site of the Kangqiao plant, the electric drive production line of the Pinghu plant, the technical Center laboratory, and the competitor analysis room; Heard reports on the five-year sales plan, project progress, engineering capacity building, business strategy, and other aspects of the company; And shared the current situation and future business strategy of GKN global platform host plant customers.

 

The leaders of GKN acknowledge the achievements of SDS in grasping the market, reducing costs, and improving profitability in the past few years, facing various challenges, and express gratitude to the management and all employees for their hard work and dedication; Praise the on-site management mode, automation, and digitization level of Kangqiao Factory; At the same time, we encourage engineering teams to independently lead design cost reduction based on changes in the Chinese market and competitive situation, in order to meet the needs of the Chinese market to the greatest extent possible.

 

Through this visit and exchange, both sides have reached the following consensus: firstly, in terms of DL business, for global platform business, GKN and SDS will focus on technological advantages, global collaboration, resource integration, deep localization, and strive to strive for more global brand projects; For independent brand businesses, especially in the field of new energy vehicles, both sides agree that independent brand vehicle manufacturers have already occupied a mainstream position in China and will gradually move towards the world in the future. Considering the fierce competition in the Chinese semi-axis market, GKN supports SDS in implementing localization strategies, vigorously expanding its brand market share through leading product technology, competitive product costs, and flexible institutional mechanisms. At the same time, SDS must balance production capacity and profit to ensure the company's stable development. Regarding the ePT business, GKN hopes to collaborate with SDS on global engineering resources, establish an efficient communication platform, and lay out the platform spectrum of the ePT business. SDS need to establish complete engineering capabilities and specifications from systems to components based on domestic new energy business characteristics, create comprehensive capabilities across the entire value chain, enhance product competitiveness, and expand the new energy business market.

 

With the strong support of its shareholders, SDS will further expand its market, enhance its capabilities, and strengthen cooperation and exchange.
